He was predeceased by: his parents, U. L. Goodman and Irval Willis Goodman; his brother Kenneth Willis; and his son Chris Willis. He is survived by: his wife LaRose Willis; his daughters, Nikki Allen (Michael) and Monica Kachelman (John); his grandchildren, Alyssa Cameron (Barrett), Summer Willis, Marley Kachelman and Tenley Kachelman; his stepgrandchildren, Tucker Allen, Taylor Allen and Rhett Allen (Paige); his granddaughter Holli Webb (Spencer); and his brother Jerry Willis (Kathy).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to Alabama Christian Academy or to the benevolent fund at University Church of Christ.
