He is survived by: his wife Angia Abbott Katechis; his sons, Randy Katechis, Theo Goodin (Michelle), Gus Katechis (Nicole), Chris Katechis and Chase Katechis (Kelley); his granddaughters, Trinity, Savannah Goodin, Cora Rose and Constance Katechis; and his sisters, Rose Katechis Karagan and Dr. Nia Katechis Terezakis.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on Mt. Meigs Road in Montgomery of which his father was a founding member.

“Sorry for your loss. I was in the Lanier band with Theo. Saw him last in 2017 when visiting my dying cousin in Montgomery. Was in Montgomery a couple of weeks ago for a funeral and asked about Theo when we ate at Chris’s. I ate hundreds of hot dogs there growing up especially as a teen when I ate four every time we ate there - Four with chocolate milk. George Haynes”
