She was predeceased by: her husband Loyd D. Smilie; her parents, Emma Lee Petrey and W. Gilbert Sellers, Sr.; her great grandchild Amelia Claire Kottyan; her son-in-law David Bollinger; and her sister-in-law Ethel Sellers.

She is survived by: her daughters, Lynn Smilie Nesbitt, Lucinda Smilie Chappelle (Lewis Calvin "Chip") and Mary Loyd Bush; her brother Gilbert Sellers, Jr.; her grandchildren, Leah Nesbitt Kottyan (Kameron Mogadam) and David Gilbert Nesbitt (Katie); and her great grandchildren, Isabelle Claire Kottyan, Ian Michael Kottyan, Mary Emma Nesbitt and Elizabeth Katherine "Elsie" Nesbitt.
