He is survived by: his children, Jesse Kennedy Savage and Sarah Elizabeth Jones (Caton); his granddaughter Leal Elizabeth Jones; and his siblings, James Cathey Savage III (Clara), John Alan Savage, Barbara Anne Schindler (Doug) and Jo Lynn Elder (Pat).
