Spenser Ross Sears Obituary

Spenser Ross Sears, age 34, of Montevallo, Alabama passed away of cardiac arrest, a complication of undiagnosed congestive heart failure, on Sunday, September 3, 2023. He was born on March 7, 1989 to Steven and Patsy Sears.

He is survived by his parents and his sister, Sarah Madeleine Sears.

Spenser graduated from Montevallo High School in 2007. He loved spending time with his family, especially his cousins. Spenser loved watching football, especially Alabama. He also liked watching boxing and visiting bookstores, libraries, and museums.

Spenser was generous with his attention to the lives of his friends and family. One way he showed you he loved you was by tracking closely on your interests. He remembered the sports teams you support, your favorite band, and your hobbies. He would use them as points of connection. He also kept tabs on loved ones across the country by faithfully reading in full their local newspapers. "I was thinking about you today when I read this story about…" was a typical way he started a conversation. It felt like love.

A visitation for Spenser will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM.
