He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Oakley Hurst, Sr. and Betty Wooten Hurst; and his daughter Phoebe Olivia Hurst. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne S. Hurst; his son Phillip O. Hurst III; his daughter-in-law Shelly Hurst of Ormond Beach, Florida.; and his cousins, Walt Bentley (Georgia), Terrianne Pagubitan (Guadencio), Kenneth Powell (Cicely) and Stewart Powell.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church (3411 Spring Creek Rd, Montevallo, AL 35115). A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
