It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lelon Roy Godwin (Montevallo, Alabama), who passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Lelon Roy has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lelon Kenneth and Laura Godwin; and his brother James Edward Godwin. He is survived by: his children, Tammy Dockery (Ron), Mark Godwin (Brandee) and Shelley Jones (Todd); his grandchildren, Samantha Ray, Kyndal Harrison, Andrew Ray (Charlotte), Noah Godwin and Cole Godwin (Shelley); and his brother Tony Godwin (Lisa). He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A committal service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the same location.
