He was predeceased by: his parents, James Pickett and Janice Pickett; his brother Duncan Pickett; and his granddaughter Kaitlyn Paige Shores. He is survived by: his wife Vicki Pickett; his daughters, Kelly Conway (Duck), Ellen Cooley (Janet) and Amy Lash (Wes); his brothers, Larry Pickett (Shirlene-Friend) and Charlie Pickett (Judy); and his sister-in-law Margaret Pickett. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Homeland Way.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Care Center at UAB.
