She was predeceased by: her parents, Rhudy Payne Yates and Mary Bell Gill Yates; her husband Truman Bernard Shaw; and her siblings, Gladys Yates Casey, John Yates, Joe Earl Yates and Rhudy Paul Yates.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Yates Shaw of Montevallo, AL and Elizabeth Shaw Oedamer (Robert) of Brierfield, AL; her siblings, Bob Yates (Ann) of Woodland, AL, Mac Yates of Wedowee, AL and Sue Benefield of Wedowee, AL; and her sister-in-law Jane Stillwell Yates of Wedowee, AL. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Montevallo First Baptist Church (660 Main St, Montevallo, AL 35115). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115).
