He was predeceased by: his wife Susie Sammons; his daughter Amanda Sammons; his parents, Mabel Mims (Edward "Ted") and Ermon Sammons; and his siblings, James Sammons and Linda Palmer.
He is survived by: his children, Tiffany Sammons, Tonya Cummings (Kevin) and Zachary Sammons (Shelby); his grandchildren, Austin (Hali), Justin, Skyler, Terri'Yona and Lilly; his great grandchildren, Colton and Marlie; and his siblings, Brenda Mims Hughes and Bobby E. Sammons (Frances). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Charter Funeral Home (2521 US-31, Calera, AL 35040). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115).
