It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ila Matthews of Monroeville, Alabama, who passed away on September 21, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husbands, Gilbert Samuel Crum and Bill Matthews; her son Douglas Gilbert Crum; her grandson Sam "Judd" Andress; her parents, William Hanks and Gertrude Lambert Hanks; and her siblings, Harvell Hanks, Evon Hanks, Hazel Hanks Smith and Clonette Hanks Nall.
She is survived by: her children, Donald Keith Crum of Frisco City, Ala., Cheryl Crum Johnson (William) of Greenville, Ala. and Mary Matthews Harrell of Excel, Ala.. She is also survived by four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
