It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Essie Lassiter of Monroeville, Alabama, born in Mount Vernon, Alabama, who passed away on March 11, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert C. Walker and Louise E. McIntyre Walker; her husband Joe Lassiter, Jr.; her siblings, Billy Walker, Betty Ruth Haney and Lyda Baugh; and her stepdaughter Lucille Costin.
She is survived by: her children, Wanda Morris (Thomas) of Frisco City, Betty Lowery (Johnny) of Monroeville and Gerald Lassiter of Peterman; and her sister Jeanette Baugh (James) of Greenwood, AL. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
