With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Motes in Mobile, Alabama, born in Sylacauga, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 10, 2024 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Motes and Fay Motes; his brother Miles Motes; and his brother-in-law Dr. Stacey Headley. He is survived by: his wife Cathy McCloud Motes; his children, Thomas Julian Motes, Jr. of Mobile and Katie Motes; his siblings, Margaret Mugg (David) of Birmingham, David Motes of Houston, TX and Carol Motes Headley of Memphis, TN; his sister-in-law Lisa Orrell of Mobile; and his nieces and nephews, Bryan Mugg Fairhope (Maggie), Arthur Headley of Kansas City, MO., Anna Mugg Jones Birmingham (Andy) and Shelby Headley Luethke (Michael).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Methodist Church or First Light Community of Mobile.
