He was predeceased by: his parents, John B. Shearer and Eloise M. Shearer; his granddaughter Olivia M. Shearer; and his brothers, Jack Shearer and Don Shearer.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley C. Shearer; his sons, Robert H. Shearer, Jr. (Jennifer F. Shearer) and Jeffery Hudson Shearer (Elizabeth Shearer); his granddaughters, Rachel L. Shearer, Sara Jane Shearer Spellmeyer and Rebecca B. Shearer; and his nieces and nephews, Jackie Shearer, Joan Phillips, Rick Shearer, James M. Shearer, Sunny Dallifore, Casey Burke and Bob.
