He was predeceased by: his parents, Mahlon Evans and Jane Thigpen; and his grandparents, Lamar, Patience Evans, Cecil and Eleanor Upton.

He is survived by: his wife Peggy Towne Evans; his daughter Candace Evans Turner (Terry); his granddaughters, Scarlett Turner and Madilynn Turner; his stepfather Billy Thigpen; and his siblings, Carson Evans, Craig Evans (Sherry), Roger Thigpen and Melanie Jacobs.
