He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Cato and Voncile Cato; and his stepdaughter Jennifer Hall. He is survived by: his wife Mary K. Hall; his daughter Jamie Dalton (Tim); his grandchildren, James Hall, Jessica Waltman, Kendall Hall and Tyler Cannon; and his siblings, Wanda Zehner (Alan Grantham), Hilda Iniguez (Joe) and Terry Cato (Lisa Roper). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
