She was predeceased by: her son Darryl Dale; her parents, Albert Thicklin and Fannie Mae Thicklin; her grandmothers, Fannie Lou Reynolds and Willie Bell Thicklin; and her aunt Lizzie Mae Coker.
She is survived by: her brothers, Earnest Thicklin (Melva) of Stockton, Joe Brown (Bettye) of Mobile, Alabama and David Thicklin (Jeanetta) of Mobile, Alabama; her uncles, Jessie Carter (Barbara) and James Carter; and her nieces, Nia Thicklin, Roshunda Lumpkin (John) and Rakesia Wilson (Brian). She is also survived by great nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
