He is survived by: his children, John Benjamin Sims III (Garrell Murdock), Melanie Ann Sims and Amy Sims Taylor (Rusty Taylor); his siblings, Winfield Scott Hancock Sims, Cheryl Sims, Sheila Kistler and Michelle Sims Payne; his grandchildren, Christopher Dwayne Lisenba Jr., Hannah Victoria Lisenba, Skyler Bailey Sims and Jayden Allen Sims; and his great grandchildren, Camden Lisenba, Carter Lisenba, Madeline Graham and Oliver Graham.
