John David Melton Obituary

John David Melton, a resident of Mobile, AL, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the age of 64.

David enjoyed life mostly outdoors. He worked as an engineering surveyor for over 25 years. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and was a helpful person loved by all his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father James O. Melton, and his brother James O. Melton Jr.

He is survived by his wife Donna Lynn Melton; daughters, Leah Lynn Melton, and Marissa Lynn Melton Gill (Matthew); Mother, Madeline Melton Diamond; brother, George William (Bill) Melton (Cindy); sisters, Kathy Diane Beard (Raymond), and Mary Melton Freeman; and other loving relatives and friends.

A memorial mass will be held to celebrate David’s life and honor his memory at Corpus Christi Church in Mobile, AL on February 7, 2024, with visitation at 10:00 AM and mass at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in David's name.

David will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
