He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Sanders Johnson and Dr. Robert Hall Johnson; and his brother William Robert Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Leslie Lauten Johnson; his sons, Dr. Lauten Sanders Johnson (Laura), Austen Hall Johnson (Alice) and Cullen William Johnson (Erin); his grandchildren, Sally, Addie, Grace, James, Thomas, Mary Carmen, Sanders, Callie Johnson, Adam and Ben Barksdale; his friend John; and his caregivers, Jessica, Vee, Brittany, Rachel and Priscilla.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church (3704 SpringHill Ave, Mobile, AL 36608). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's memory to St. Paul's Episcopal School, 161 Dogwood Lane, Mobile, AL, 36608; Smile Foundation, 1015 Brocks Gap, Hoover, AL, 35244; or St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 3704 Springhill Av., Mobile, AL, 36608.
