With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Hughes Waldron of Mobile, Alabama, born in Dade City, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 15, 2024 at the age of 79. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Paul Emery Hughes and Lenora Ellerbe Hughes; her children, Brent Hughes Waldron (Tara) of Mobile, AL and Kristy Waldron of Mobile, AL; her grandchildren, Blake Hughes Waldron of Mobile, AL., Julia Cole Dugan of Mobile, AL. and Bryson Hayes Thistrup of Mobile, AL.; her siblings, Mary Frances Mullins (Bob Dennis) of Tallahassee, FL, Judith Anne Williams (Jerry) of Clinton, MS and Paul Eugene Hughes (Charlotte) of Waverly, AL.; and her sister-in-law Sharon Padgett (Bill) of Stockton, AL. She was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Ashland Place United Methodist Church, Building Fund, Ronald McDonald House of Mobile, American Cancer Society, and/or your favorite charity.
