She was predeceased by: her parents, George Young and Flossie Young; her husband Leslie Smith; and her siblings, James D. Young, George S. "Buddy" Young, John P. Young, Edna E. Lane, Mamie Young, Nellie G. Crews and Barbara C. Young.
She is survived by: her pet Peppie; her children, David Black, Cynthia Wilson (Chris), Lynn Lindquist (James) and Jesse Black (Sheila); her sister Esther Y. Johnson; and her close friend Peppie. She is also survived by grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
