Hattie McCants Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hattie McCants of Mobile, Alabama, who passed away on March 27, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Woodrow McCants, Sr.; her parents, Jack Odom and Harriet Thomas Odom; and her siblings, Lenard, Johnny, Adam Odom, Elizabeth Campbell and Mary Knight.

She is survived by: her children, Otha McCants, Sr. (Vanessa), Woodrow McCants, Jr. (Andretta), Roy McCants (Jeannette), Wanda Grant (Bryan), Natashia Spearman (Elywn), Angela Shelly (Michael), Victor McCants, Sr. (Patricnella) and Karen Alexander (Kevin); and her grandchildren, Otha McCants, Jr. (Rondonlyn), Jason, Jessica McCants, April Gloston (Louis), Mystique Pickett, Roderick, Terrance McCants (Derecka), India Burns (Eric), Roland Harris (Shannon), Brittany Robinson (Jay), Kaylah McCants, Justin McCants, Michael Shelly, Jr., Victor McCants, Jr., Crista McCants, Aaron and Cameron Alexander. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Hattie McCants participated in numerous community programs, including the Yes We Can Community Program, CORRE (Central Office Review for Results and Equity) and the Mobile Area Education Foundation Summit.
