He was predeceased by: his parents, Mariah King and Goode Ambrose, Sr.; his sisters, Ledora Ambrose Griggs, Lela Mae Ambrose and Eliza Ambrose Crumpton; his stepsisters, Elvira Brown, Mamie Lee Slaughter, Rosa Ambrose and Berniece Davis; his brothers, David Ambrose, Edward Ambrose, Randal Ambrose, Frank West and Ezelle Williams; and his stepbrothers, Bennie Lee Williams and John Henry Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Jean King; his children, Lionell King (Linda "Dyniece") of Dallas, GA and Dinah Bonner-Gray of Bessemer, AL; his granddaughters, Tamieka "Mieka" Bonner of Bessemer, AL and Sobany King of Cartersville, GA; his goddaughter Andrea Lett; his siblings, Jackie Williams (Perry) of Indian Springs, AL and Henry; his siblings-in-law, James Bonner (Warnetta) and Grace White (Earnest) of Citronelle, AL; his nieces, Velvian "Pat" King of Daphne, AL and Patricia Williams of Citronelle, AL; and also Cassandra "Sandy" Brown. He is also survived by nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Apostolic Church of God (4050 Cottage Hill Rd, Mobile, AL 36609). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
