It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Faye Varnado Taylor in Mobile, Alabama, who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Rodgers James and William M. James; her former husband George Varnado; her husband Lowell Taylor; her brother William Ray James; her halfsiblings, Curtis James, Carleen Mason, Glennice Singley and Cathy Reid; and her great grandchild Maria Varnado.

She is survived by: her children, George, Cheryl Varnado Rudolph (Todd) and Darrell Varnado; her grandchildren, Bennie Varnado (Danielle), Brooke Varnado, Sam Varnado, Chloe Rudolph and Austin Rudolph; her great grandchild Grace Varnado; her stepchildren, Karen Herndon (Bob) and Edwin Taylor (Shari); and her siblings, JoJo Wright, Bobby James, Ann Tarver, Leize Fuller and Mona Garrett. She is also survived by children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home (6040 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, AL 36619). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

“Faye was a dear friend of mine. I met her after she married Lowell and moved to Warner Robins. They were faithful members of Central Baptist Church in Warner Robins and I enjoyed sitting with them during services. We all square danced with the Robins Ramblers in Warner Robins Ga. Faye, myself and Bess McElwain line danced with a group in Macon Ga. I cherished the time we spent together and I thank God for bringing her into my life.”
