It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eddie Phifer (Mobile, Alabama), born in Greenville, Alabama, who passed away on November 1, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Mary Cecil Jessie Phifer; his wife Renay Gaines Phifer; and his siblings, Lucille Gray, Willie Mae Bailey, Edna Ruth Lewis, Annie Mae Smith, Charlie Phifer and Willie Phifer.
He is survived by: his children, Ursula Stribling, Jovester Howard (Lachell), Shanita Howard, Marlon Gaines (LaKeisha), Keirston Gaines and Krystal Powell (Adam); his godson Larry Matthews; his stepchildren, Trynita Howard, Minnie Keita and Pamela Howard; his grandchildren, Tabyris Howard, Malika Howard, Charniece Gaines, Khristopher Powell, Margaret Howard, Ariyana Powell, Cameron Coleman, Marlon Gaines, Jr., Matthew Gaines and Maci Gaines; and his sisters, Bessie Johnson (Leroy) and Sadie Parker (Eugene). He is also survived by relatives and friends.
