He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Sr. Scoggin and Frances Scoggin; his son Charles Scoggin (Ricky); his grandson Chase Stevens; his siblings, Grover Scoggin (Bud) and Ida Mae Dixon; and his son-in-law James Hughes.

He is survived by: his close friends, JB and Inez Satterfield; his wife Ruth Scoggin; his children, Richard Scoggin, Jeffery Scoggin (Brooke), Jeremy Scoggin, Jared Scoggin, Angie Boykin, Carmon Pierce and Wendy Baria; and his pet Callie. He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren; 17 Great-Grandchildren.
