He was predeceased by: his wife Sylvia M. Dobbs; his grandson Justin Bedsole; and his parents, Oscar T. Dobbs, Sr. and Charleen C. Dobbs. He is survived by: his children, Julie D. Fulton of Cape Coral, Greg Bedsole (Kathy) of Mobile and Chris Besdole (Kim) of Spring, Texas; his grandchildren, Chip Fulton, Holly Fulton of Cape Coral, Jenna Vaccaro (Marco) of Houston, Brandon Bedsole (Laura) of Mobile and Lindsey Grosz (Gavin) of Mobile, Alabama; his siblings, Angela Taylor (Burg) and Oscar Thomas Dobbs, Jr. (Diane); his brother-in-law Richard Mimms (Melanie); his nephews, Jason Taylor (Heather), Anthony Dobbs of Trucklee and Jeffrey Dobbs of Roseville, California; and his niece Rachel Taylor of Mobile. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
