It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carmel Shumock (Mobile, Alabama), born in Port Arthur, Texas, who passed away on January 5, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid adieu to Carmel's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Carmel has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Roe and Ollie B. Robertson; and her husband Hollis J Shumock. She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Shumock (Debbie) and Donna Friday (David); her granddaughter Amanda King (Matt); and her siblings, Naomi Pinto, Wilson Robertson (Ann) and Roe Robertson (Lynn). She is also survived by two great granddaughters, two great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home (6040 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, AL 36619). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
