She was predeceased by: her parents, Willoughby Calvin and Maggie Prine Byrd; her grandson David Anthony Rodriguez; her great grandchild Toni Wuest; and also Joseph Thomas Alvarez.

She is survived by: her daughters, Vickie Bowden (James) of Mobile, Bonnie Tolbert (Wayne) of Lucedale and Catherine Sims (Myron) of Lucedale, Mississippi; and her siblings, Wynell Helton of Leakesville, Mississippi and Bill Byrd (Ruby) of Mount Vernon, Alabama. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren; also survived by other relatives, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
