He was predeceased by: his parents, Izora C. Dixon and Marshall Black; and his siblings, Robert Coleman, Clifford Black and Mattie Turner.
He is survived by: his wife Hazel Louise; his sons, Benjamin G. Coleman, Jr. (Paula) of Austell, GA, Fredrick G. Coleman (Kathy) of Westminster, CO, Anthony G. Coleman (Kimberly) of Parker, CO and Steven G. Coleman (Rhoda) of Austin, TX; his niece Monica L. Harden of Mobile, AL; his grandchildren, Amber Coleman, Brooklyn Coleman, Damarius Montgomery, Frederick G. Coleman, II, Steven B. Coleman, Matthew Coleman and Braeden Coleman; his friends, Eugene A. Moseley, Sr. of Mobile, AL and Charles Williams of Cincinnati, OH; and his goddaughter Alaiyo Kiasi-Barnes (Erica Moseley). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
