Ann Adele Gilbert Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ann Adele Gilbert of Mobile, Alabama, who passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter B. Grimes and Annie Adele Cox Grimes; her husband Alfred Gerald Gilbert; her grandson Philip G. Gilbert; and her siblings, Walter A. Grimes, Raymond J. Grimes, Alexander C. Grimes, Albert L. Grimes and Margaret E. Grimes Ball.
She is survived by: her sister Theresa Rose Grimes Brewton; her children, Alfred Dale Gilbert (Sondra), Philip Gerald Gilbert (Karen) and Ann Elisabeth Phillips (Charlie); her grandchildren, Robert G. Gilbert (Becky), Brittany M. Moore (David), JulieAnna Lindsey (Jared), Ann Elisabeth Atkinson (Matthew), Corey D and Justyn D. Phillips; and her great grandchildren, Ezra, Lydia Lindsey, Sophia, Alexander Gilbert, Emma Moore, Manasseh and Ephraim Atkinson.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (2605 SpringHill Ave, Mobile, AL 36607). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at the Catholic Cemetery (1700 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Ave, Mobile, AL 36617).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to mom's favorite charity St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
