She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Thomas Brown and Margaret Grey Johnson Brown; her sister Hazel Annette Dixon; her nephew Anthony Kendall Lowery; and her niece Charlotte Ann Dixon.

She is survived by: her siblings, John Wesley Brown (Judy) of St. Stephens, AL, Aaron Clifton Brown of Millry, AL, Thomas Douglas "Tom" Brown (Paula) of Millry, AL, Phillip Lee Brown of Millry, AL, Don Edward Brown (Mironda) of Millry, AL and Sharon Brown Oates of Millry, AL. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

“Sarah was a classmate of mine and I always admired her for doing her best with her vision limitations. She was not one to complain or expect special consideration which she deserved. I hope and pray she had a fulfilled life and that she realized how courageous she was. She had the most beautiful blonde hair and a smile that I remember lighting up a room. I wish I had stayed in touch. I know she is in heaven now as only goodness existed in Sarah. Theresa Brown McLaughlin”
