He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud O'Neal and Jesse O'Neal; and his siblings, Mae Young, Tommy O'Neal, Billie O'Neal, Peggy Kenyon and Louise Belvin.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Stokes O'Neal; his children, Patrick O'Neal of Jasper, Sherri Stanford (Tony) of Clinton, MS., Lisa Allen and Cindy Hayes; and his siblings, Bonnie Riccetti and Randy O'Neal of Chatom, AL. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and loving friends.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Spring Hill Baptist Church (32 Bodie Carpenter Rd, Millry, AL 36558). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery (32 Bodie Carpenter Rd, Millry, AL 36558).
