He is survived by: his wife Hazel Skelton Carpenter of Millry, AL; his son Joey Carpenter (Brenda) of Millry, AL; his sisters, Barbara "Bobbie" Overstreet (Wayne) of Jackson, AL and Helen Paul of Thomasville, AL; his grandchildren, Michael Carpenter and Jodey Motes (Ben); his great grandchildren, Raelynn Carpenter, Kyleigh Motes, Lexi Motes and Abel Motes; and his granddaughter Jennifer Baugh.
