He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Brown Nokes and Florence Swindell Nokes. He is survived by: his brothers, L. D. Nokes and Ronny Nokes; and his close friends, Butch Kinney and Leonard Wheeland.

In lieu of flowers, meorials may be made to American Legion Post #133, 4980 Main Street, Millbrook, AL 36054 in his memory.
