He was predeceased by: his parents, George Carter Vansandt and Allie Gertrude Grogan Vansandt. He is survived by: his wife Martha Joyce Vansandt; his children, Mark Vansandt and Sandy Shirley; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Vansandt (Priscilla), Erin Vansandt, Jessica Taunton (Chad) and Adam Shirley (Amanda). He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
