She was predeceased by: her parents, Douglas Wilkins and Estelle Allen Wilkins; her husband Carl M. Stroupe III; her siblings, Tony Wilkins, Virginia Whitehead and Margaret Hatchett; and her great grandchild Ansleigh Garner.

She is survived by: her children, Michelle "Shell" Garner (Terry Stephens) and Richard Mulder (Johnnie Gail Henley). She is also survived by eight grandchildren & twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
