He is survived by: his wife Janet Marie Ray; his daughters, Ginny Ray and Renea Ray; his brother Jim Ray (Marilyn); and his grandson Aiden Wrights.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be donated to the American Heart Association.
