She was predeceased by: her husband Owen Sanders; her former husband Johnnie Reeder; her son Glen Sanders; her parents, Robert Arnold and Janie Nelson; her siblings, Elsie Sanders, Earline Hood, Merrell Farmer and Bill Nelson; her sons-in-law, Charles Wilson and Steve Barham; and her grandson Larry Barham.
She is survived by: her children, June Wilson, Debra Clinton (Gary), Chester Sanders and Troy Sanders (Cathy); and her stepchildren, Johnnie Reeder (Joan) and Joyce Foreman (Jimmy). She is also survived by grandchildren of her own and Elsie's grandchildren who thought of her as their Memaw.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the New Hope Baptist Church (6191 Lightwood Rd, Deatsville, AL 36022). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery (6191 Lightwood Rd, Deatsville, AL 36022).
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to New Hope Baptist Church or to The Gideons International P.O. Box 97251 Washington, DC 20090-7251.
