He is survived by: his wife Sarah Harris Nixson; his siblings, Lamar Nixson of Orlando, FL., Elzine Harris (Willie) of Tallahassee, FL and Alice Nixson of Red Springs; his children, Job Nixson, Paul Nixson of Tallahassee, FL, Thomas Nixson, Joseph Nixson of Tampa, FL., Ivy Nixson Ward (Lee) of Tallahassee, FL and LaTonya Nixson Peterson (Pete) of Tampa, FL.; his stepchildren, Larry Barris (Shannon), Terry Barris (Melissa), James Mathis, Wesley Hall, Benjamin Harris Jr., Ardell Harris (Pearl), Stanley Harris (Sheila), Richard Harris, William Harris, Melissa Woodson (Jackson), Barnetta Harris, Lisa Milbry, Sharon Hawks (Dale) and Pamela Richardson; his sisters, Queen Sanders and Pansie Eutsey; and his children, John Jr., Doris and Virginia. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
