He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph LaPoint and Jila LaPoint; his brother Sonny LaPoint; and his son Michael "Aaron" Jackson. He is survived by: his wife Barbara LaPoint; his children, Robert "Daniel" Jackson (Kim) and Amanda Roach (Daniel); and his brother Steve LaPoint (Hideko). He is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
