With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley M. Burgess (Midland City, Alabama), who passed away on September 28, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Monroe Cary McKnight and Iris Mae McNab McKnight; and her siblings, Jane Benton, Hayward and Edwin McKnight.
She is survived by: her husband William "Bill" Burgess; her daughters, Cassandra Carter (Don) and TaJauna Jimmerson (Alan); her grandchildren, Matthew Peters (Katy), Mychal Peters (Anslie), Laura Young, Jeniffer Brune (Chris), Ben Jimmerson, Will Jimmerson (Keltin) and Rachel Carter; her great grandchildren, Whitley Preston, Grayson Jimmerson, Cylas Young, Sydney Young, Layla Brune, Carter Brune, Emma Jimmerson, Brayden Peters, Riggs Jimmerson and Brody Peters; her brothers, Mickey McKnight (Debbie) and Jimmy McKnight (Nelda); and her siblings-in-law, Sherman Benton and Carolyn Burgess. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
