He was predeceased by: his parent James Burke Alverson; his wife Betty Lou Marshall Alverson; his daughter Deloris Alverson; his sons-in-law, Steve Fontenot and Donny Spikes; his sister Martha Averett; and his stepsister Geralee Kelly.
He is survived by: his parent Maggie Mae Dorough Alverson; his daughters, Rebecca Fontenot, Deborah "Dee" Spikes and Teresa Dehne (Steve); his grandchildren, Jennifer Baker (Neil), Jason Fontenot (Jessica), Dylan Wilson, Jenna Dehne and Taylor Dehne; and his great grandchildren, Wheeler Fisher, Brennyn Fisher, Hayden Fontenot, Christian Wilson, Madeline Jones and Maisie Crawford.
