With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gwendolyn Nelems (Midfield, Alabama), born in Ensley, Alabama, who passed away on August 25, 2021 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Eaton and Esteree Eaton. She is survived by: her siblings, Roosevelt West, Harold Norris, Carolyn Eaton, James Eaton, Jerome Eaton, Elwin Eaton and Gwen; her husband John Wesley Nelems; her children, Daniella Ellis (Richard Ellis), Anita Nelems, Annissa Nelems, John Nelems and Cedrick Nelems; and her siblings, Columbus Norris, Joan Jones, Amy Parker, Fredrick Eaton and Wanda Eaton. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She will be missed but the foundation she laid has been received and her name and face- even though she hated pictures- will live on for the many gardens of trees to come.
