He is survived by: his siblings, Harry DeFreese and Evelyn Hall; his daughter Judy DeFreese-Pylant; his grandchildren, Shawn Lackey, Brandon Mitchell and Tessa Rothert; his great grandchild Cristian Stark; and his nephew Roger Shirley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
