He was predeceased by: his wife Annie Jeanette Neeley Tate; his parents, William Jefferson Tate and Carrie Ethel Patterson Tate; and his siblings, Judson Carl Tate, Mildred Louise Phillips and Katie Ruth Brown.
He is survived by: his sons, Mike Tate, Steve Tate (Jackie), Mark Tate (Markeyta) and Jeff Tate (Michele); and his grandchildren, Kristen Tate, Sheree Mullins (Ronny), Kasey McGill (Stewart), Josh Tate (Hope), Grant Tate (Wendy), Miles Tate (Hunter), Chase Tate (Amanda), Meagan Hand (Andrew), Hunter Tate (Cyndle), Morgan Baker (Cameron) and Madison Swegles (Jarrett). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
