He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. "Jim" Patterson, Sr. and Margie Jacks Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Patterson; his children, Don Patterson (Teresa) and Carol East (Jack); his grandchildren, Tyler Patterson, Paige Patterson, Jessica Gillon (Dustin) and Blake East (Lindsay); his great grandchildren, Dalton Gillon, Tanner Gillon, Mason Gillon and Eiley East; his sister Vera Tipton; and his sister-in-law Lovell Wells.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice Family Care Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation, 801 Clinton Ave. E, Huntsville, AL 35801.
