He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Winston Rucks of Birmingham; his daughter Laurie Rucks Bragg; his brothers, Kenneth, James and Vernon; his granddaughter Emily Odom; and his son-in-law John Odom.
He is survived by: his children, Julia Rucks Dean (Jerry) and Donald W. Rucks, Jr.; his grandson Walker Bragg; his son-in-law Dennis Bragg; his brother Mike Rucks (Jan); and his sister-in-law Susan B. Rucks. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
