He is survived by: his siblings, Joseph C., Ila Mae Cooley Sims and McCalla; his significant other Suzie Mae Williams; his sister Brenda Biddy (Joe); and his children, Marcia Smith Lewis, Sharon Kay Sims, Lori Ann Sims and William Joseph Sims. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren, 1 great/great grandchild, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
